Overview:
Rowdy
Radio Show is an outlaw country radio show that focuses on Outlaw
Country, Honky Tonk, Rockabilly and Truck Driving songs. Rowdy Radio
plays outlaw country songs that are old and new. The shows consist of
"educating the public about what country music really is and bringing it
to its roots," as host Martin Rowdy Tijmes states. He is all about the
music and wants to educate the listeners about what country music is and
where it came from, as well as outlaw country music and who is playing
it now and why it is not being played on national radio stations. Rowdy
Radio is here to change that, this show is unlike any you have ever
heard, guaranteed! There is a very large market for this type of music
and as Rowdy says, "it needs to be heard, but more importantly is that
people love it and it is fun!"
Rowdy
Radio Show plays everything from Johnny Cash to Doug Sahm. From Th'
Legendary Shack Shakers to Two Tons of Steel to Red Simpson and Waylon
Jennings, Rowdy plays it all! Rowdy Tijmes brings in great commentary
and fun facts about these artists (whether they be personal accounts,
funny stories or educational) and has a strong following. Texas music,
rockabilly, red dirt music, tex-mex, truck driving country and of
course, outlaw country will all be heard on this nationally syndicated
radio show that is unlike anything you have ever heard. Rowdy really
knows his music and it shows. Rowdy Radio Show will be sure to put a
smile on your face when you hear it as it is a fun paced, music
intensive show with great upbeat rowdy commentary in between songs.
Bio:
Rowdy Radio Show originated in Austin, TX in 2004 when DJ host Rowdy Tijmes got out of college and started volunteering at
a local community radio station. He has always had a big passion for
radio, outlaw country and good music in general and wondered why more
stations did not air what so many people consider "good music". So, he
made his own show and Rowdy Radio was born in the Austin, TX airwaves.
Rowdy then wanted to get to know more people in the industry and thought
that putting on a concert would be a good way, so he started up a
concert that after six years ended up travelling through Texas and
ending up in Nashville called the "Johnny Cash Bash" where he had
several of Cash's original members come and play for the Man in Black.
The tour started on Cash's birthday, Feb. 26, and the proceeds were
donated to charity (www.johnnycashbash.com). It was there where he met John Peyton from Jagger Peyton Entertainment Group
because he was performing with one of the bands that evening. Radio
veteran John Peyton has a business with Mick Jagger's brother, Chris
Jagger, where they syndicate radio shows. The idea was then met that
Jagger Peyton Entertainment Group would help syndicate Rowdy Radio Show.
And now...Rowdy Radio Show is getting known worldwide!!! Check it out
